Clean Energy Council calling for a COVID-19 Stimulus Package for Renewable Energy

The CEC (Clean energy council) are lobbying Governments around Australia to include Renewable energy and energy storage as a key part in the COVID-19 response packages.

Their reasoning behind this is that the energy industry can play an exclusive role in the economic recovery and bounce back. They believe a clean energy stimulus package would both stimulate the Australian Economy and protect households and business from high electricity costs.

“The government should directly fund the install of solar energy on public housing and low-income rental housing. Solar will reduce energy costs as well as employ large amounts of electricians and tradespeople quickly.”

“They would also like for solar to be installed on ALL critical state infrastructure and government buildings including: Police and Fire Stations, Telecommunications centers, schools and childcare facilities.”
