Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers will be taking place as like any other year, except their will be, major changes on what’s to offer. Here are a few things the Solahart Darling Downs Family are excited about!

Night Garden powered by Ergon Energy Retail

As twilight settles in, Queens Park will spring to life with lighting displays that weave through a secluded section of the parkland. Designed as an family-friendly space, the Night Garden features light installations and illuminations of colour! Get your camera ready to capture each installation.

This event will ‘brighten’ your night! Don’t miss it!

Spring Bluff Railway Station Gardens

Heritage-listed Spring Bluff Railway Station is home to 150 years of railway history and beautifully landscaped gardens. Nestled on the main railway line between Ipswich and Toowoomba, the splendour of the gardens will stop you in your tracks. The spring exhibit is absolutely stunning with thousands of visitors each September enjoying the magnificent display with an array of poppies, ranunculus, stock, snapdragons, petunias and many other annuals bursting into colour under the warm sunshine.

Japanese Garden Ju Raku En

One of the most beautiful and peaceful parks in Toowoomba is the University of Southern Queensland’s Japanese Garden. This 3 hectare site is one of Australia’s largest and most traditionally designed Japanese stroll gardens. Ju Raku En, roughly translated, means ‘to enjoy peace and longevity in a public place’. Its elements of mountain stream and waterfall, dry garden, central lake, azalea hill, three kilometres of paths, 230 species of Japanese and Australian native trees and plants combine in a seamless and restful harmony.

Laneways + Street Art Discovery Walking Tour

“The Melbourne of Queensland”. With its developing street art culture and vibrant laneway life, Toowoomba is earning a reputation as a culturally diverse urban environment. Combining art and architecture, this walk takes the visitor through some of Toowoomba’s famous street art laneways.
Learn about the art, the world-renowned artists and the architecture on display. Sharing a mix of stories about the art and the buildings our guides will show you a side of Toowoomba visitors rarely see. Take a walk on the wild side through the arcades, backstreets and laneways.

Toowoomba during WWII – Walking Tour

Air raid drills, troop trains, soldiers and naval personnel Americans, nurses and even the odd General. All were commonplace in Toowoomba during the years 1942 – 1945. This talk and slide show showcases the places that link to Toowoomba’s fascinating World War 2 history.

Presented by local history buff Paul Herbert hear the stories of Toowoomba as a war town Learn more about how Toowoomba was central to the early defence of Australia, especially in terms of logistics and planning and indeed planning for the defence of the East Coast of Australia took place in Toowoomba at Clifford House.
